When Grendel's mother finds out she is very upset and wants to kill Beowulf, so Beowulf swims to the bottom of the lake to attempt to kill her. She is waiting and Beowulf can't use his sword so he fights her with his bare hands. He find a sword but Beowulf is stabbed by her. He uses his sword to cut off her head.
